* GCSE Maths, English and Science

* Functional Skills Maths and English

* IGCSE Maths

* Trainee teacher skills tests.

 These sessions are perfect for pupils going through the home-school system and can be booked as a regular thing or just when a gap needs filling. We currently have 16 people attending daytime sessions all ranging from 1 hour a week to 25 hours per week. The costs of our sessions start from £20 per hour.

Here are just some of our pupils –  past and present

Pupil A (LEA Funded)

Currently covering a full year 7 curriculum for up to 25 hours per week. First term Autumn 2022 was very successful and swa us cover the whole Year 7  Maths curriculum in just 12 weeks, Not only do we cover the core subjects but we ensure learning is fun and meaningful. In the Autumn term our Year 7 pupil planned a very successful fundraiser and wrote to and got a response from King Charles.

Pupil B

Started with us in Year 9 working on English, Maths and Science for 5 hours per week. With every lesson working on key topics by the start of Year 9 she was working ahead of her GCSE targets and looking to improve each grade by at least 1. As well as her grades improving so did her confidence and she returned to mainstream school  at the start of 2023. We know she is going to do fantastic at her new school and look forward to hearing her results next year.

Pupil C (School Funded)

In September 2022 it was decided his current school placement wasn’t suitable for either him or the school so in partnership with the school he came to Aldridge Premier Tuition for 10 hours a week to cover English, Maths and Science. As the pupil was at the start of Year 10 the importance of keeping up to date with GCSE studies was very important. We had the target with helping the pupil engage in all subjects and increase confidence in his ability. After 10 weeks with us, his grades had improved in all area but most noticeably in Maths and as a result he returned to a new mainstream school.

Pupil D (School Funded)

Joined us in October 2022 after all previous school options resulted in just 9% attendance  but so far with us, this has risen. The pupil is in Year 10 and covering Maths and English but alongside these core subjects he is also working on confidence and perseverance. For 20 minutes a week he turns teacher and help our year 7 pupil (and Matt) improve their art skills. We also work on perseverance through some PE challenges involving table tennis. In partnership with his school who funds his lessons we are working on helping this pupil get the GCSEs he needs for his next adventure in life.

Pupil E

Joined us in 2022 as her anxiety within big groups made it difficult to focus and be successful in school. She came to us as a hater of education but our flexible approach and individual approach led to improvements in Maths and English and more importantly her self confidence. Meeting new pupils at the centre, engaging in conversation and seeing successes in her work led to her returning successfully to school.

Pupil F

Joined us in September 2022 as a year 10 who had found school life difficult for a variety of reasons including clashes with fellow pupils and teachers. Told by staff at a previous school that he wouldn’t achieve much in education we worked on changing his perception of himself and set out to prove people wrong. Doing sessions 5 hours per week covering English, Maths and Physics it was decided we would enter him for his GCSE Maths exam 12 months early. After passing his Maths exam he returned to school in September 2024 in order to sit a wider range of subjects.

Pupil G

Year 6 pupil who had just moved to the area and couldn’t find a place in a local school. Mum had tried other tuition places but they all had minimum contracts and couldn’t offer the flexibility we could. The pupil covered English, Maths, Science and History and had a great time during her month at Aldridge Premier Tuition. When she joined her new school they were very complimentary of her knowledge and the fact we provided evidence of the areas she had covered in lessons with us meant it was easy to fill any gaps.

Benefits of our daytime sessions

  • Flexible sessions – some people like regular sessions however others like the flexibility we offer.
  • Smaller groups – currently the biggest group during the daytime as 3 pupils. With each pupil working on individual targets they are taught 1:1 with the teacher sharing their time between the pupils. At all times of the day there are always two teachers present so each pupil enjoys a focused approach to learning. Compared when at school we estimate we teach things 3 times quicker. This is because there are no disruptions and things are explained 1:1.
  • No contract – You do not sign a contract to use our services so you don’t need to be worried about being signed up for something long term and feeling trapped. Some of the pupils who use our services have been let down by education so our flexible approach allows us to steadily build up confidence and educational ability. So if you want to aim for 3 hours per week but start at 1 hour that is not a problem for us.
  • Evidence based approach – We keep a record of all work completed and the standard achieved. This is beneficial to everybody involved and our records have been requested by school, EHCP meetings and for any home school checks you may have.
  • Pupil first approach – Every pupil is important to us and ensuring they enjoy their studies is important so we can adapt our lessons accordingly. We have pupils who find writing difficult so they type up their work or they find it difficult to work for more than 30 minutes so they do a 70 minute lesson (60 mins teaching a 10 minutes refresh time). After 30 minutes we might set a Wordle challenge or the pupil might play a game and then return to do their final 30 minutes.
  • Experts – We employ experts in each subject to ensure pupils get the most out of their studies with us.
  • Ofsted Registered as a childcare provider giving everyone peace of mind we have correct insurances, a registered first aider and that all staff have passed the correct DSB checks.
