The 11+ is a big ask for a 10-year-old. It tests things they haven’t seen in school, under time pressure they’ve never been under, with stakes that matter to the whole family. We take that seriously, and we’ve built our 11+ programme to match.
What we cover
- English: comprehension, creative writing, vocabulary and punctuation
- Maths: core curriculum plus wider problem solving and word-problem technique
- Verbal reasoning: every standard question type, taught as a skill not a mystery
- Non-verbal reasoning: pattern work, spatial thinking and careful elimination
How we work
Small groups, so students get real attention and real practice. We start by finding out what each child already knows, fill the gaps, then build speed and technique. Mock paper practice becomes part of the weekly routine in the run-up to the exam, so the real day feels familiar rather than frightening.
When to start
Most families start in Year 4 or early Year 5, which gives plenty of time to cover the full syllabus without cramming. If you’re starting later, get in touch and we’ll be honest about what’s achievable and how we’d go about it.
